In this program, we aim to develop your skills and aesthetic understanding in an artistic discipline. Students are required to take courses that blend studio practice with references to art history and theory. You have the chance to work closely with teachers who are committed to creative work in their own field and encourage students to follow the same path. The program encourages you to strive for the creation of a significant body of art work representing very high levels of achievement.
This selective program emphasizing studio art includes several phases of professional competence in the department with the possible inclusion of other disciplines outside the department when necessary.
Our program ensures that graduates have the opportunity to develop their creativity to a highly professional level within an academic environment. Throughout your education, you will work closely with a faculty member who will also serve as your mentor. Many graduates of our program have been accepted in esteemed Master of Fine Arts programs.
