About

The goals of the Masters Program in Applied Behavior Analysis are to provide students with training: 

  • to work in a variety of fields with a variety of populations in need of behaviorally based interventions. 
  • that meets the educational competence requirements necessary to pursue professional certification (through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board). 
  • that helps students contribute to and advance the field through conduct and participation in research as well as presentations. 
  • that supports the possibility of continuing their education at the doctoral level.

Programme Structure

In order to assist students with gaining practical experience and experience hours toward both credentials, we have an on-campus opportunity and have partnered with several local human service organizations. Our on-campus clinical opportunity is SIBS Club, which is directed by Drs. Emily Jones and Daniel Fienup, and serves families of children with autism and focuses on improving sibling relationships.  We partner with a number of private schools - ELIJA School, QSAC, and the Manhattan Childrens Center - and agencies - Behavioral Intervention Psychological Servives, ABA Psychological Services, Mike Marroquin Consulting, Kids Learning Loft, and Long Island ABA.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • Fifteen credits in undergraduate psychology is considered the minimum requirement for admission to the MA program
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • In some cases a personal interview with the Graduate Advisor
  • Submission of the results of the aptitude test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE general test).
