About

Fine Arts - Sculpture at Pratt Institute fosters the cultivation of the individual as artist. Although the students apply in an area of emphasis in Painting/Drawing, Integrated Practices, Printmaking, and Sculpture the program is designed to encourage a wide variety of cross- disciplinary study.

Overview

At Fine Arts - Sculpture at Pratt Institute the faculty generously invest in an intergenerational and cross-cultural dialogue that is unique to New York. All are active artists, writers, and critics and bring both critical rigor and a respect for the achievement of craft employed in their own practices. In addition, a diverse roster of visiting artists, curators, critics, and arts professionals gives public lectures, engages in periodic semester reviews, and conducts individual studio visits with students. The studio experience, especially at the graduate level, is characterized by strong peer exchange and dialogue.

Students at Fine Arts - Sculpture at Pratt Institute will:

  • have access to courses and facilities in Printmaking, Jewelry-making, and in Drawing and Painting within Fine Arts.
  • gain access to facilities in other Departments at Pratt such as Digital Arts (advanced digital video and animation, digital tools including 3D modeling, printing, and scanning) and Photography (both traditional film processes and digital).
