The Education Specialist - Administration and Supervision primarily serves educators who aspire to become central office or district wide school leaders. The Ed.S. serves educators who wish to advance beyond the master’s of arts degree.


he degree plan requires the completion of 30 credits beyond a master’s degree from an accredited graduate institution. Ed.S. completion is defined as completion of all coursework and the thesis. Students wishing to obtain a central office certification must complete an application to the Michigan Department of Education.

TOEFL admission requirements TOEFL® IBT The TOEFL iBT® is given online through the internet at designated testing site. The test measures your English-language abilities in an academic setting. The score refers to the total score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading), each subject has a range of 0 - 30.
IELTS admission requirements IELTS The International English Language Test System (IELTS) tests your English-language proficiency on a scale of 1 – 9. The score refers to the combined average score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading).

  • 1) Complete the Graduate Admission Application.
  • 2) Applicants are expected to have:
  •    a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university
  •    an undergraduate grade point average of 2.75 or higher
  •    a GMAT or GRE equivalent score (see admission requirements for GMAT/GRE waivers)
  • 3) Applicants are required to write a statement of purpose.
  •    2-3 page essay format
  •    State the reason that you are pursuing an MBA at NMU.
  •    State what unique perspective, qualifications, experiences and educational assets you
  •    would bring to share with your class. Also include your goals and how the program will
  •    help you move closer to them.
