About

We offer a master degree in Health Psychology at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Our two degree options, MS Thesis Option and MS Non-Thesis Option,  are designed to provide opportunities for students with varied interests in health, cognition, and wellness. 

Overview

All students follow a similar education plan during their first year in the MS. At the end of the first year in the curriculum, students in consultation with faculty may continue on either the thesis-track or non-thesis track.

At the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia we offer a master degree in Health Psychology. Through a combination of coursework and research experiences, you will acquire a thorough background in the psychological theory of mental and physical health, behavioral medicine, research methods, neuroscience and health communication. Electives allow you to be flexible and pursue areas of interest.  You may also complete the graduate Certificate in Health Education and Communication or Biostatistical Methods with SAS Programming Certificate simultaneously with this MS degree.

  • Official college transcripts from all colleges attended with all degrees documented. Transcripts from non-US institutions must be course-by-course evaluated by World Education Services (WES)
  • Statement of Professional Goals
  • All applicants must submit a 1000-word essay explaining specific short and long-term career goals that the program will help address. If the applicant is applying to be a MS (Thesis) or Ph.D. student, the applicant must identify at least two of the program’s faculty whose research interests align most closely with their own interests and describe why s/he perceives this to be so. The essay may be submitted as part of application, or as an email enclosure, or sent separately via postal mail
