Overview
UNC’s masters degree in Multilingual Education, TESOL or World Languages curriculum equips language teachers with the skills and expertise to teach English or foreign languages in the U.S. and abroad. We welcome international teachers as well as teachers working in the United States and offer programs on-campus, online and in hybrid (both online and on-campus) formats to meet the needs of our diverse students.
Our international, multilingual faculty are recognized leaders in teacher preparation for language teaching. They’ll work closely with you as mentors and colleagues. Small class sizes, whether face-to-face or online, encourage close interaction and the exchange of career-related knowledge and creative teaching techniques.
The TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Emphasis prepares students to work in the field of TESOL or in international or domestic non K-12 educational settings with emergent bilingual and bicultural students. Can’t come to campus or seeking flexibility? UNC offers this program online through UNC’s Extended Campus.
