About

After completing a master’s degree in Communication, you may qualify for upper-level jobs in fields such as news, social media, advertising, marketing, public relations, sales, human relationships, television, radio or prepare for postgraduate degrees.

Student Learning Outcomes - The graduate with a Master of Arts degree in Communication, Speech Communication Option will use the knowledge and skills obtained in the program to:

  • Understand the theoretical bases of speech communication.
  • Conduct research that contributes to the creation, expansion, and/or application of knowledge in the field of speech communication.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of an area of specialization in the field of speech communication.

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • Have at least a 2.75 GPA in 15 hours of undergraduate communication courses.
  • Complete and submit an online application to UCM’s Graduate School and International Admissions along with your official transcripts.
