Millersville University Department of English educates graduate students whose refined research, analytical, and writing skills enable them to advance into doctoral programs or other professional endeavors.

Overview

Students enrolled in either program may enhance their educations with independent study projects and with a master's thesis. (For complete requirements, please see the graduate curriculum sheets). Graduate students are eligible for student assistantships and have the opportunity to both assist faculty on research and campus projects and to work in the Tutoring Center Graduate assistants are not permitted to teach.

General requirements

  • Admission to the program is open to those applicants who possess a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university with an undergraduate major in English, or by special permission. Applicants must submit supporting documents as required for general admission to a graduate program. Applicants must take either the General GRE or the MAT and score in the 50th percentile or higher.
