The aim of the Career Development and Management course at Coventry University is to give you the practical skills, theoretical knowledge and professional values that help to enable you to meet the needs of clients in a wide range of work settings.
Upon successful completion of the course you will gain an understanding of how to deliver careers support to diverse individuals and groups and manage career development activities, as well as how to manage your own career development, whether as an employee or as a self-employed person, researcher or practitioner within a changing UK and international landscape.
Career development professionals provide activities and services which assist individuals or organisations seeking support to effect a wide range of career transitions. These may be associated with life and career stages, including the development of young people’s career ideas.
Successful completion of the course should provide you with skills to find employment as a guidance practitioner in the statutory services, careers guidance within further education and higher education institutions, adult guidance partnerships, charitable organisations, community-based agencies and opportunities in the voluntary and private sectors.
