Our MSc in Engineering will build on your broad engineering background, giving you a greater depth of knowledge and experience. You can study this course full-time over one year or part-time over two years, to suit your work and personal life.

About

The course is made up of four compulsory modules, two optional modules and a dissertation, ensuring that you have covered the essentials, but also had the opportunity to tailor your studies to your interests. Theoretical lectures and seminars are reinforced by engineering examples and case studies and the use of our computer simulation tools and laboratories.

Career Opportunities

A Master of Engineering is highly desirable. Engineering and associated industries are experiencing a major short fall in well-qualified graduates, which has produced a significant demand for flexible individuals with relevant knowledge and expertise.  The career opportunities that you will enjoy with this degree will depend on the area that you plan to work in and the field.

You can pursue jobs in many different engineering fields from chemical and electrical engineering to mechanical and civil engineering. Within these fields, you can advance up the ranks or become more of a lead engineer. Some of the job roles you could get once you are a master’s degree holder include:

  • Senior systems engineer
  • Software developer
  • Senior electrical engineer
  • Processing engineering manager
  • Senior chemical engineer
  • Chemical process engineer
  • Construction project manager
  • Senior mechanical engineer
  • Structural engineer
  • Design engineer
  • Product engineer
