In this Artificial Intelligence master programme at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) a wide variety of techniques will be taught, including intelligent robotics, artificial deep neural networks, machine learning, meta-heuristics optimization techniques, data mining, data analytics, simulation and distributed algorithms.


The Artificial Intelligence master programme at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) is integrated with laboratory works where students have the possibility to use real robots and to practice with state of the art tools and methodologies. 

After the first few lectures of the basic Machine Learning course, AI master students will already know how to train self-learning artificial neural networks to recognize the images and handwritings to the right better than any other known method.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the most popular areas in computer science and engineering. AI deals with intelligent behavior, learning, and adaptation in machines, robots and body-less computer programs.

  • Candidates with a Bachelor's degree of a recognised University of Applied Sciences may be admitted with 30-60 additional ECTS to be earned during or before the beginning of the programme, with Bachelor courses according to a study program defined by the scientific director. Admissions will be treated on a case by case basis.
