The main objective of the Applied Linguistics Master Programme, offered by the Faculty of Modern Philology and Social Sciences from University of Pannonia, is training experts who are able to facilitate information flow with the acquired knowledge in linguistics, communication and research methodology at the individual and societal levels.

Overview

The Department of Applied Linguistics has a long history. It was established in 1993 and since then it has offered programmes in Applied Linguistics. The main activities are teaching, research, and publishing findings in Hungarian and international journals and books. The Department organizes annual international conferences and workshops, where students can become acquainted with the best-known scholars, and where they also have the opportunity to present their own research. The main goal is to involve students in research activities and help them become researches.

Students of the Applied Linguistics, offered by the Faculty of Modern Philology and Social Sciences from University of Pannonia, gain the appropriate level of knowledge in different fields of applied linguistics to go on with their studies at the doctoral level.

  • BA degree in any languages, arts, humanities  and social sciences. 
  • Any kind of BSc degrees within which 50 credits of language and communication subjects are covered. TOEFL 66, IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2 level

Description of selection and entrance examination process
  • Checking all the necessary documents (degree(s), language examination certificates, etc.), then a Skype-interview with the candidate in the course of which we talk about the fields of interest of the candidate, their motivation and professional plans for the future. The interview serves as well for the observation and assessment of the candidate's English proficiency level.
