This MSc in Finance - Oman at The University of Strathclyde is suitable for those intending to develop their careers in finance, broadly defined as corporate finance, security analysis, portfolio management, the management of options, futures and other derivatives, treasury management, the management of financial institutions and markets, and financial decision-taking in the public sector.
For those already working in finance, the course will enhance their effectiveness by covering the latest developments in the field, encouraging them to question traditional rules and techniques and take an analytical approach to practical problems and decision taking.
This course has been taught for more than forty years, though it has been reviewed and restructured over this period. It was one of the first MSc. degrees in Finance to be offered in the UK and it continues to be highly ranked in the Financial Times league tables and graduates from the programme are employed in nearly all the major international financial institutions. The programme is has been taught on a part time/open learning basis for almost twenty years, and staff of Strathclyde are well experienced in teaching on this basis.
The course will be taught on a part time basis over two years, with the next intake in September 2015. It will cover the same syllabus as the course provided at the University of Strathclyde and students in Oman will take the same examinations as those on the full time course
