The Master's Programme in Music (Symphony Orchestra Instrument Specialisation) from Lund University, aims to educate musicians possessing a high level of artistic and professional ability.  


During the period of study in the Master's Programme in Music (Symphony Orchestra Instrument Specialisation) from Lund University, you will develop the knowledge and skills you need in order to work at a high artistic level in a changing and dynamic cultural life in all its forms. We offer education with considerable opportunities to realise your own goals and in parallel build up a strong professional identity that will endure throughout your life as a musician. 

The Master’s Programme in Music has specialisations in Composition, Guitar, Harpsichord, Jazz Improvisation, Piano, Recorder, Symphony Orchestra Instrument, and Vocal Studies.

Admission is possible on the following instruments: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, french horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, violin, viola, cello, double bass, percussion, harp. The language of instruction is Swedish and English.


Studies in one of the performance programmes at the Malmö Academy of Music will prepare you for future professional musicianship as a soloist and/or ensemble and orchestra musician. 

On completion of the Master's Programme in Music (Symphony Orchestra Instrument Specialisation) from Lund University, the student must have well-developed knowledge and skills in order to work in a professional capacity in various forms – either as a soloist, a member of an established ensemble, or in freely formed groups.
