The objective of the training programme is to turn out students who are duly capable of identifying and analysing financial-economic issues in the light of existing scientific literature. They are expected to be duly capable of putting forward and elaborating scientifically-founded, creative solutions for such issues. In addition, they are to be capable of adequately reporting the results thus found, both verbally and in writing.
The knowledge to be acquired with due perspicacity includes : the ability to decipher and interpret the theory and empiricism of the financial economy, in particular the three branches of financial intermediation & banking, financial risk management & portfolio management and monetary economy; a thorough knowledge of the scientific methodologies adopted in the financial economy; the ability to understand and interpret the economic and institutional environment of the financial sector.
The competences to be applied are : the ability to make a thorough and scientifically-underpinned analysis of financial-economic issues; the ability to resolve complex financial-economic issues; the ability to devise new concepts and financial-economic applications; the ability to compile reports, both verbally and in writing, of issues and solutions; the ability to work together as part of teams which incorporate a variety of different skills; the ability to conduct scientifically-based research into the financial economy.
The following attitudes are duly pursued : self-reliance; due sense of criticism; independence; integrity; objectivity; sociability; a sense of analysis and synthesis; the readiness to assume responsibility; creativity.
