The teaching strives to engage students by combining the more theoretical aspects of the field with a self-defined innovation project. This combination of practical skills and theoretical enhancement informs the programme as a whole, and strives to create a meaningful, well-rounded education that can help the participants realise their career potential.

The programme offers:

  • An understanding of the nature of innovation and entrepreneurship and the potential inherent in this, including theories of how these function, how they can be managed and how to find novel ways to realise projects in the economy.
  • The necessary skills to start and manage projects of an innovative nature, including skills in business model innovation and executing new projects and start-ups. This also includes critical skills for the effective leader in a contemporary economy, such as creativity, communication and presentation.
  • A set of critical skills needed to properly analyse and assess innovative projects, as well as the theoretical basis upon which the participants can build their further development as innovation leaders.

Degree project and thesis

    The TOEFL – or Test OF English as a Foreign Language – offers a paper-based test (PBT). The final, overall PBT score ranges between 310 and 677, and is based on an average taken from the three test components (listening, structure, and reading).   • Minimum required score:

    90

    The TOEFL – or Test Of English as a Foreign Language – offers an internet-based test (iBT). The final, overall iBT score ranges between 0 and 120, and includes a scaled average from the four components (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). Read more about TOEFL (iBT).

Academic Requirements

To be considered eligible for the programme you must fulfil both the general and specific admission requirements. The general admission requirements are the same for all programmes at KTH while the programme specific requirements vary between the programmes.

A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, corresponding to at least 180 ECTS credits in engineering, technology or natural science.

The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.

Funding

Every year a limited number of KTH Scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence. Recipients of the KTH Scholarship will have their tuition fee waived for the first and the second year, provided that the study results during the first year are satisfactory.

Applications for the KTH Scholarship for studies beginning in autumn will be open December 1 - January 15.
