Overview
Program Description
The Middle Level Education program at Arkansas State University has an emphasis on research based practices and the alignment of instructional practices with current national curriculum initiatives.
The program is aligned with the Association of Middle Level Educators standards. Currently the program is considered traditional and less than half the course work is delivered on-line.
This program requires basic computer skills, access to high speed internet (dial-up internet is not adequate), and current editions of Microsoft Office (available to students as a free download).

General requirements
- A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.00 (or 3.25 on the last 60 hours) and a raw score of at least 30 on the MAT or a minimum score of 790 on the combined verbal and quantitative sections of the GRE, or
- A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.75 (or 3.00 on the last 60 hours) and a raw score of at least 35 on the MAT (or a minimum score of 820 on the combined verbal and quantitative sections of the GRE)
- A completed online application
- Application fee ($30 for U.S. applicants/$40 for International applicants)
- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended since leaving high school
- All students are required to present written documentation of measles, mumps and rubella immunization
- If you have completed any previous graduate/master’s degree courses, you must have an overall graduate level Grade Point Average of at least a 3.0/4.0
