Overview

The aims of the Computer Engineering Master program at Yildiz Technical University:

to provide students with the theoretical knowledge of different techniques in order to develop computing and information systems;

to equip the students with practical information and sufficient expertise for the evaluation and design of computing and information systems;

to develop the analytically, critical, and problem solving skills of students;

to prepare the students for their industrial career and advanced research tasks.

Program Outcomes

Be able to reach knowledge in-depth and broadly by doing scientific research in engineering and be able to evaluate, interpret and apply this knowledge

Be able to complete and implement information with scientific methods by using limited or missing data; be able to merge information belonging to various disciplines

Be able to develop methods to construct and solve engineering problems and be able to implement innovative methods in the solutions

Be able to collect, evaluate, and interpret data by using scientific methods.

Be able to participate in multi-disciplinary projects and to convey his/her ideas in respect of computer science perspective

Be able to communicate new ideas and solutions with at least one foreign language.

Be able to follow with innovations of his/her research area.

Be able to coordinate scientific projects with a morality of public ethics.

Be able to plan and to schedule and to propose alternative solutions.

Be able to detect appropriate tools and information technologies during the evolution of the research.

Career

Graduates can work either in private or public companies in the field of computing and information technologies or they can continue to their career in academia.

General requirements

To study in the graduate programs, the students are required to take an exam called “ALES” (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Exam), which is also administered by ÖSYM, and submit this score with their application. GRE or GMAT can also be a substitute of ALES. The applicants have to meet additional program requirements defined by the universities.

In Turkey, the universities have the right to define the admission criteria themselves and these admission criteria have to be approved by Higher Education Council of Turkey (YÖK).
