The Advanced CBT Practice (Resilience and Positive Development) Top-up course from London South Bank University enables you to add to your classic CBT training all the knowledge and skills required to treat clients using resilience training and the principles of positive development, as well as undertake research in these areas. You will need to enrol and successfully complete Module 6 of the PGDip Advanced CBT Practice (Resilience and Positive Development). You will then to take modules 7 and 8 to qualify for the MSc Advanced CBT Practice (Resilience and Positive Development).
The course is unique in using positive psychology principles and practice for the development of resilience and flourishing in clients with mental health issues. During the first and second year you'll have an opportunity to take part in a question-and-answer session in person with Dr Christine Padesky, and one to two online group sessions where you'll be able to discuss some client issues common to the whole group. You will be able to practice in the NHS and in private practice. You will have successfully completed a High Intensity IAPT course which you will ideally have received from a BABCP accredited University.
Clients/Patients/Clinical and Research Supervision
If you have satisfactorily completed the requirements of a PgDip High Intensity IAPT course from an accredited University and are eligible for BABCP accreditation you will need to see clients suffering from mild to moderate depression and /or anxiety while you are completing the requirements of Module 6 and will need clinical supervision from a BABCP accredited supervisor for this module as a requirement of the course.
