Throughout this Renewable Energy Engineering course from University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) , you will make use of lab and field-testing facilities for measuring and monitoring the performance of different renewable energy systems, such as wind turbines, photovoltaic power systems and heat pumps. You will also learn to use tools for component and system design, simulation of the performance and monitoring of renewable energy systems.

These tools include Matlab/Simulink, GH WindFarmer and WAsP for wind farm design, PVsyst for photovoltaic system design and Labview for system monitoring. You’ll also have the option to experience a Professional/Work Placement in addition to the taught course.

After graduating from this course you’ll have gained the skills and knowledge required for a successful career in the growing renewable energy sector.

The roles available to you include system engineer, design engineer, project engineer, and energy consultant. You’ll also be equipped to carry out consultancy work in the energy sector.
