About

The Masters programme in Arts Management from Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama is designed to provide you with a comprehensive grounding in the broad range of skills necessary for the effective management of arts organisations. Our team of experienced arts practitioners delivers the training, with guest lecturers from a number of high profile arts organisations throughout the UK.

Overview

Suitable for ambitious and resourceful individuals who wish to work in leadership and enabling roles in the arts and creative industries. RWCMD’s MA in Arts Management offers hands-on, vocational training within the unique environment of a thriving arts centre and leading conservatoire.

The programme

We encourage applications from as wide a range of backgrounds and specialisms as possible. The course provides sector-leading training for those who are new to arts management as a career option. It can also be tailored to suit people already working in the sector who wish to gain experience in leadership and management, or to accelerate career development.

Students receive expert tuition and mentoring from tutors with extensive professional experience, while building practical skills through a series of placements working alongside arts professionals within the College’s own venues and with external partner organisations. Students can also apply to work at the College’s professional venue (Venue 13) at the Edinburgh Fringe during the summer months

Programme Structure

With a relatively small number of places available each year, tutors are able to offer a very high level of individual support, and to help tailor the programme according to each student’s individual experience, interests and career aspirations.
