Key facts

The mission of the Biomedical Informatics program from Stanford University is to train future research leaders to design and implement novel quantitative and computational methods that solve challenging problems across the entire spectrum of biology and medicine. The program is flexible, and attracts applicants with training in biology, research and clinical medicine, computer science, data science and analytics, statistics, engineering and related disciplines.

BMI is one of the home programs in the School of Medicine's Biosciences Programs.   • An application fee must be paid (via credit card) at the time the Stanford Supplemental Application is submitted.
  • The Stanford Supplemental Application requests additional information, including essay questions about your personal background and professional interests.
  • Updates to an application will be accepted only after an applicant has been invited to interview. Interview decisions are made based on information submitted in the AMCAS application, Stanford Supplemental Application, and letters of recommendation.
  • All applications will be reviewed for consideration of an interview. The earliest notifications regarding an interview invitation will be sent in July and continue on a rolling basis.
