Overview
Boise State University’s Masters in English, Rhetoric and Composition provides students with a strong foundation in both rhetorical theory and composition pedagogy, preparing graduates for both careers in the teaching of writing or work as writing specialists including professional writing, web design, writing for social media, and grant writing.

General requirements
- B.A. in English. Applicants without a bachelor’s degree in English are required to have a strong background in the field. They should discuss their qualifications with the Director of the program.
- GPA of at least 3.0 for the last sixty semester credit hours of undergraduate work.
- As of December 18, 2019, the English Department no longer requires the GRE for admission into the M.A. in English program(s).
- Applicants must meet general Graduate College requirements.
