Overview
In the Bilingual-Bicultural Education (MA/MEd) program from DePaul University, you have the option to pursue an Illinois teaching license or add a bilingual endorsement and/or an ESL endorsement to your current license by taking additional courses. Classes are offered in the evening on the Lincoln Park Campus. The program can be completed in two years as a full-time student.
The programme
- You will work with experienced faculty like Assistant Professor Sonia Soltero, the chair of the Department of Leadership, Language, and Curriculum and former director of the Bilingual-Bicultural Education MA/MEd program.
- She has been involved in bilingual education for 30 years as an educator and researcher and is the author of three books on language education: “Dual Language Education: Program Design and Implementation,” “Schoolwide Approaches to Educating ELLs: Creating Linguistically and Culturally Responsive K-12 Schools,” and “Dual Language: Teaching and Learning in Two Languages.”
