University rank #1001 (WUR) , MS,
The study of mathematics, appropriately named the "Queen of the Sciences", is often motivated by problems in other fields, and even by questions that arise within its own domain. Acquaintance with mathematics is necessary to understand pressing problems in culture, science, and daily life.

About

Informed by cutting-edge, internationally recognized scholarship, our faculty teach classes that address a large spectrum of mathematical study and direct award-winning student research.

The department offers undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Mathematics licensure, a masters in mathematics, and a doctoral degree in applied and computational mathematics through the College of Science and Technology's Computational Science degree program. Members are active in working with students in the Honors College. Many of our students have continued to graduate school here or elsewhere, and many now work in industry or academia.

At the masters level, the program is designed for students to develop a working background in mathematics. Moreover, students interested in applied mathematics can build the foundation to continue in a doctoral program in applied and computational mathematics.

Programme Structure

The masters program provides flexibility to accommodate a wide range of interests as well as the opportunity to specialize in applied mathematics. All MS courses are elective courses without any restrictions. The specific plan of study is developed by the student and the student’s graduate committee.
