Our graduate program includes a M.S. in Cell & Molecular Biology, and a M.A. in Biology that leads to a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist certificate.

The M.S. degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology is offered as either a Research or a Non-research (coursework) degree. Both the Research and Non-research degrees may be earned with a Bioinformatics emphasis. The Non-research degree may be done on a part-time basis.

General Requirements

  • Submit your online UMKC application (paper application is also available)
  • Application fee – Pay your $35 application fee for domestic students ($45 with a paper application) and a $75 application fee for international students that cannot be waived or deferred
  • Have a bachelor's or first-level professional degree from a regional accredited institution
  • Statement of Purpose – Please submit a short statement about and objectives for attending UMKC
  • English proficiency – If you have taken a TOEFL or IELTS test, please submit a copy of the score if English is not your native language
  • GRE/GMAT: Have official GRE, GMAT or other test core report sent
  • Three letters of reference
