In the area of costume, UMKC offers a single comprehensive M.F.A. degree in costume design and technology. A faculty of established working professionals offers a conservatory training approach that allows personalized training to meet the individual aspirations of each student.

Overview

The candidate choosing the costume design area will be prepared to compete for a position as a professional costume designer, or as an assistant in the upper echelons of this field. The candidate choosing a costume technology area will be prepared to compete for jobs as a costume shop manager, or in one of the many aspects of costume technology as an allied costume artisan. Ideal candidates will be equally confident with their graphic and technological skills.

The faculty will be recruiting at the URTA Audition and Interviews in Chicago.

    GRE admission requirements GRE® The GRE® General Test is a widely administered admissions test that measures the skills needed in today's graduate and business school programs worldwide. It contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.
