Throughout the Studies in Comparative Literatures and Arts at Brock University, students examine contemporary approaches to texts of various types, as well as the possibilities and problems that arise in comparative studies, including issues related to the translation and adaption of works.

General requirements

To be considered for admission to a Master’s program, a student will normally hold a four year degree, or its equivalent, from an accredited university with a minimum 75% (mid-B) average over the last two years of full-time undergraduate study.
You will need to submit your transcripts as well as the following program-specific materials:

Two references are required.
A resume outlining your educational and professional experience.
A Statement of Intent indicating your reasons for pursuing this degree and your thoughts on possible strategies for dealing with an interdisciplinary approach to the study of literature and the other arts. This is particularly important given that applicants will normally have obtained an undergraduate degree with a single or combined major, but one that does not necessarily entail comparative analysis across the arts.
