The curriculum of the Directing program at The City University of New York is built on the use of the latest digital equipment and will stay current as innovative technology emerges. The various courses of study will reflect the reality that the very idea that filmmaking is in flux; no longer does it exclusively involve projected images in a darkened auditorium. 

Overview

The Barry R. Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema offers a master of fine arts degree in cinema arts with a concentration in one of the following areas: producing, directing, screenwriting, cinematography, post-production, or digital animation and visual effects. 

Learning outcomes

The three-year, 66-credit Directing program at The City University of New York prepares students for professional careers in their area of concentration through a combination of practical and theoretical courses.
