Overview
About the Public Health program
Graduates most often establish careers in community or population health, healthcare or nonprofit program administration, fulfill essential government roles, or transition into medical school, physician assistant or other health professional training program.
The OU College of Public Health at the University of Oklahoma has been continuously accredited and is the only accredited school of public health in Oklahoma. Tulsa MPH students receive interdisciplinary training across the major disciplines of public health, including health promotion, epidemiology, biostatistics, health administration, and environmental health with an emphasis on determinants of community health. All classes are designed with the needs of working students in mind and some students obtain their MPH while completing another health professional degree.
Our multidisciplinary faculty members are local and national leaders conducting innovative research in the areas of health promotion, epidemiology, tobacco use and disease prevention. They partner regularly with American Indian and Latino communities to address and eliminate population health disparities.
