The 2nd-cycle study programme in Elementary Education leads to "magisterij" (master's degree). It is implemented by the Faculty of Education. 


The department of elementary education builds its recognizability by establishing good relationships and research collaboration with students, presenting results of research work at national and international scientific conferences, publishing in magazines and publishing independent works. The department develops study programmes which enable students to acquire competences and qualifications for teaching in the first grades of elementary school, at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Members of the department collaborate with partner institutions from Croatia, Hungary, Finland, Austria, Greece, Germany and France in the field of research and education. Student and teaching staff mobility is organized with the help of Erasmus Mobility Programmes.Graduates can find employment as teachers at lower primary level in primary schools, as arts and music teachers in primary and secondary schools, in kindergartens and in sports clubs to work with athletes, as well as in other professions in the field of education.

    Based on the original amount of 2000 EUR per year and a duration of 12 months.
  • EU/EEA

    Tuition Fee
    Based on the original amount of 0 EUR per year and a duration of 12 months.

Tuition also applies to all part-time students and to Slovene/EU full-time students who have already obtained an education corresponding to master's degree.


Full-time students from Slovenia and other EU countries, and full-time students from non-EU countries who are granted international protection, applicants for international protection and persons from countries with which Slovenia has concluded bilateral agreement (i.e. North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, B&H, and Serbia) pay NO TUITION FEE (except the part for studying in English, if applicable) if they have not already obtained an education corresponding to master's degree.
