Mathematics International is the Master degree course at the University of Kaiserslautern which is especially designed for international students. It requires no minor subject and offered a broad mathematical education with a focus on the selected specialization.


The Mathematics Department at the University of Kaiserslautern offers five different two-year Masters programmes in Mathematics:

  • Mathematics International
  • Actuarial and Financial Mathematics (starting October 2016)
  • Economathematics
  • Mathematics
  • Technomathematics

Participants with a B.Sc. degree from Germany have to spend at least one semester of their Master programme at a partner university abroad.

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00. Academic Requirements

General Requirements

  • a degree equivalent to the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in Kaiserslautern that will be completed before matriculation
  • profound knowledge of the English language (e.g. TOEFL of 550/213/80 points).

Knowledge of the German language is not necessarily required, but international students have to pass a German language test after the first academic year. German language courses are offered, starting in August and March. Students who can't attend these courses must already take part in German language courses in their home country.
