About

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the Arnold School of Public Health, offers two master's degree programs: the master in speech pathology (M.S.P.) and the master of communication disorders (M.C.D.). Both degrees are accredited by the Council of Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Graduates are eligible for national certification, state licensure and South Carolina teacher certification.

The master in speech pathology degree program is designed for students who do not have training in the field of speech-language pathology or those who have recently completed an undergraduate degree in speech pathology and are not working in the profession.

The master of communication disorders is a part-time degree program offered through distance education. The curriculum, course requirements and practicum experiences are identical to the M.S.P. program, the only difference being the manner in which content is delivered.
