 Biotechnology is one of the six emerging industries and the main stream for future development in the 21st century. The Biotechnology Department was established in 2003, and offers undergraduate and graduate programs.


 Currently, the Biotechnology Department is home to 19 full-time faculty members, and approximately 450 undergraduate and 35 graduate students. The Biotechnology Program’s graduate courses are centered in the fields of Biotechnology and Nutrition. The goals of these programs are to focus on the current developments and needs in the biotechnology and nutrition industries and to enhance training for biotechnology professionals. Biotechnology graduates can pursue further study in the Biorelated fields. Potential career opportunities for Biotechnology graduates include research opportunities in research institutes and universities, staff/technicians in hospitals/clinics, as well as research and developmental jobs in the industries.

  • Two application forms attached with a 2-inch recent photo.
  • One copy of the highest-level diploma (enclosed with a Chinese or an English translation of the diploma).
  • One official transcript (in English or Chinese) from the school you have attended.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • One study plan.
  • One health certificate issued within the last six months (attached HIV certification).
  • One copy of passport.
  • An original bank statement issued within six months clearly stating a balance.
  • The receipt of application fee US$20.
  • English or Chinese proficiency certificate. New foreign students may come here to take free Mandarin classes in Asia University before the beginning of each fall semester
