Overview
GeoEngineering from Queen's University prepares students to be involved with the engineering of earth and rock structures such as those associated with foundations, slopes, deep excavations, tunnels, solid waste landfills, and contaminated ground.
Students at GeoEngineering from Queen's University will gain knowledge in:
- applying soil mechanics, rock mechanics and engineering geology to solve soil and rock engineering problems.
- applying soil and rock mechanics, materials science, and mathematics to the solution of geoengineering problems.
- researching and developing planar, polymeric materials used in contact with soil, rock and other geotechnical
- applying geotechnical engineering, hydgrogeology and geochemistry to solve environmental problems related to soil and water pollution.
- researching chemical composition and interaction of earth materials such as natural and contaminated waters, sediments, and rocks.
