About

The Master of Music (MM) degree requires a minimum of 30 credits and is designed to further the student’s knowledge, practice and experience in the following areas of study:

  • Performance instruments: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, percussion, violin, viola, cello, double bass, opera, voice, organ, piano, and carillon
  • Church Music with choral or organ emphasis
  • Conducting: Choral, Orchestral, Wind
  • Music Composition
  • Musicology
  • Music Theory

Students will be studying with faculty members who are nationally and internationally recognized in their fields and their instruments. Courses in Music Theory and Musicology are part of the in depth exploration of advanced music as are private instruction, ensemble  and chamber music opportunities, and either a final performance recital or thesis.

    The GRE® General Test is a widely administered admissions test that measures the skills needed in today's graduate and business school programs worldwide. The GRE® General Test contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.
