About

The MSc programme Nuclear and Particle Physics at Sofia University St.Kliment Ohridski aims to prepare highly qualified specialists in the field of nuclear physics, particle physics, radiation physics. 

Overview

After successful graduation the students will have knowledge and skills to perform fundamental and applied scientific research, development of experimental equipment, as well as routine measurements in the laboratories.

Key Features 

  • During the first two semesters students in the Nuclear and Particle Physics programme from Sofia University St.Kliment Ohridski should attend elective lecture courses (at least 300 hours per semester, equivalent to 30 ECTS) and successfully take exams.  
  • At least 4 of the lecture courses should be chosen from the list of obligatory courses.

  • To have completed higher education with Bachelor's or Master's degree awarded. If the applicant's Diploma is acquired from a foreign educational institution, it must be recognized with the purpose of obtaining access to further education within the higher education system of Sofia University 'St. Kliment Ohridski'.
  • The average grade of the applicant's Diploma for higher education (BA / BSc degree) to be no less than the equivalent of Good 4 according to the Bulgarian system of grades.
  • For some of the programs the respective faculties may have additional requirements or entrance exams, on the basis of which the applicants are selected.
