The Political Theory programme at the University of Ljubljana is an advanced programme in Political Science, focused on the interdisciplinary study of political ideas, institutions, and practices. Although the programme is specialised in political theories, our curriculum offers opportunities to graduate students to focus on other subfields of political science: e.g. political communication, political philosophy, political economy, and comparative politics. The programme offers vibrant intellectual community, paying special attention to students particular research foci (individual curriculum) and their quality scholarship. The programme attracts graduate students from across the world and together we (re)think politically about the world and the role of political science.
Studying Political Theory can open up a wide range of job opportunities in both the public, private, and not-for-profit private sectors. The programme offers strong qualifications for individuals who are considering government or academic careers, or careers as political advisers, political analysts, party leaders, political campaign workers, and political spokesmen, among others. Graduates can find jobs at international and regional organizations like the United Nations or European Union, work as educators, political activists or social advocates in the non-governmental sector, or even pursue a career as business consultants for multinational corporations.
