About

You work towards your MBA on a course-by-course basis. After completing three courses, you are eligible for a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration, and after six courses for a Postgraduate Diploma. The certificate and diploma awards are formal recognition of your progress; they can also be used as exit awards. Specialist awards are available at diploma level depending on your choice of courses.

    C1 Advanced is a Cambridge English Qualification. It reports on the Cambridge English Scale between 142 and 210. You will receive a separate score for each of the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and for Use of English. These five scores are averaged to give you an overall result for the exam. Universities and colleges may ask you to achieve a specific score, either overall or for a particular skill.

    Note: degree programmes and applications may require a more specific minimum score for admission.

    PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. Delivered and marked by computer, it reports on a scale between 10 and 90.

Academic Requirements

  • If you would like to study an MBA with Specialism in Finance, you should read the relevant Student Handbook,to ensure that you understand the programme structure. You should then order your first course and begin study.
  • You can then formally 'matriculate' (be accepted as a student of Heriot-Watt University) when you have downloaded and completed a matriculation form and provided evidence of your prior academic qualifications (normally a degree with first or second class honours from a university recognised by Heriot-Watt University).
