General requirements

  • Cumulative GPA for all undergraduate courses should be 2.5 or above on a four-point scale
  • The state of Georgia now requires that all teacher preparation candidates either pass the GACE Program Admission Assessment or exempt it (1,000 Verbal + Math SAT, 43 English + Math ACT or 297 Verbal + Quantitative GRE) before they are accepted into programs
  • The state also requires that all candidates have a minimum 2.5 GPA for undergraduate or previous graduate work
  • Resume: Particular format is not required
  • Application essays: Examine the middle grades education program’s commitments and respond to the three application questions. Each response should be 350-500 words and first-person narrative is welcomed.
