The Masters in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine from University of Cantabria is a research-oriented degree that can be undertaken either as a stand-alone degree program or as an entry into PhD studies.


The MBMB provides direct access to both doctoral programs in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine offered by the UPV/EHU or the UC (recognized with Distinction towards Excellence by the Spanish Ministry of Education).


The main goal is to provide comprehensive and high-quality training for new researchers in the fields of Molecular Biology and Biomedical Sciences. 

Upon completion of their Master’s degree from University of Cantabria:

  • Students will have developed a broad, critical and upto-date vision of the main topics in molecular biology and biomedicine at a cellular and molecular level.
  • Students will have acquired the knowledge and aptitudes needed to begin a research career in these subjects at the PhD level.
  • Students will have developed the scientific skills necessary to make effective use of a wide variety of important techniques in molecular biology and biomedical laboratories.

  • Qualifications: Undergraduate university degree in Biochemistry; Biology; Biotechnology; Pharmacy; Medicine; Chemistry; Veterinary Science; Physics or equivalent degrees. 
  • Acceptance of degrees in other fields is at the discretion of the Master’s Committee.
