Occupational Science provides important theories and research insights that inform social change and policy that impact every day lives.

The online Master of Science in Occupational Science program offered by Dalhousie University prepares students to conduct innovative research and use critical ways of knowing to develop theoretical perspectives on occupation, drawing on and contributing to knowledge from a wide range of disciplines and professions. Students have the opportunity to learn about and conduct research related to specific individuals/populations, and their capacity and/or right to participate in meaningful daily activities as well as interventions, personal, environmental or societal factors that impact them. This online degree is well suited for students with diverse undergraduate degrees, and with occupational therapy degrees that have a commitment to exploring the science of everyday doing.

General requirements

Candidates must have:

  • completed a 4-year baccalaureate degree in an area which can be related to the interdisciplinary field of Occupational Therapy.
  • A GPA =3.0 or greater, on a 4.3 scale, calculated on the last 20 half credits of the degree.
  • Satisfied the general requirements for admissions as outlined by Dalhousie’s Faculty of Graduate Studies.
  • English language competency (such as TOEFL or other tests as outlined by Dalhousie’s Faculty of Graduate studies)
