The Master of Arts in Sociology at the University of Cincinnati is primarily designed for students for whom the master’s is the final degree, but it also serves students who are preparing for a doctoral program.

Overview

The department offers a few different MA options. Students admitted to the PhD program who do not already have an MA, will earn one along the way. Undergraduate students majoring in sociology at the University of Cincinnati can apply to the BA/MA (4+1) program, which will let them earn a Master's in Sociology with one additional year of study. The department also offers a terminal one-year Master’s in Sociology.
