Overview
Combine your degrees and use the expertise and skills gained in business and management toward solving crucial health and healthcare issues faced by public and private organizations worldwide.
The Dual Business Administration and Public Health Degree Program of The University of Texas at San Antonio will prepare you to integrate business and public health skills in your professional life, whether you are a practitioner, researcher or administrator. The Master of Business Administration/Master of Public Health (MBA/MPH) dual degree is a collaborative program between the UTSA College of Business and The University of Texas School of Public Health (UTSPH). The MBA degree is administered through UTSA and the Master of Public Health degree is offered through the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston–San Antonio campus.
Students choosing the dual degree program must complete the 36 semester credit hours of MBA coursework and the 45 semester credit hours of MPH coursework. However, under this integrated dual-degree program, up to 12 semester credit hours of MBA coursework can be applied to the MPH requirements, and up to 12 semester credit hours of MPH coursework can be applied to the MBA requirements. These shared-credit courses substantially reduce the total time required for students to complete the programs, when compared with taking each of the two degree programs separately.
Benefits of pursuing the Dual MBA/MPH program
- Enroll in both degree programs concurrently to eliminate duplication in course content
- Completing the programs simultaneously can save up to one year and approximately 25 percent of the cost if you pursued the degrees independently
