Admission to these programs requires a bachelor of science in either chemistry and biochemistry, biology and biochemistry or biochemistry. The Master of Science in Biochemistry at Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) Munich and the diplom in biochemistry are equivalent.
Students in the master's program acquire advanced specialized knowledge in their field which enables them to conduct independent research in the field of biochemistry and related applications and embark on multidisciplinary careers.

- Chemistry, biochemistry, and pharmacy are at the core of modern science. Research into chemical and biochemical processes at molecular level and the advance into the field of nanometry form the basis of the life and material sciences.
- Rising to today’s challenges, the faculty engages in the latest fields of research and is well represented in special research projects and joint ventures. In tune with the demands of science and industry, the faculty offers a wide range of subjects, including its biochemistry program, and confers internationally recognized degrees (bachelor, master).

General requirements
- Bachelor degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry or Biology or a closely related field in natural science. The Bachelor curriculum should include practical courses in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Chemistry or related fields.
- In addition, an entrance exam must be taken. Passing the entrance exam allows acceptance into the program.
- The entrance exam is mandatory for all applicants and can only be taken in Munich at the Gene Center at the specified date.
