About

The joint master's Smart Electrical Networks and Systems (EIT InnoEnergy) programme from KTH Royal Institute of Technology covers smart electric grids, a critical component in the creation of a sustainable power supply. Students develop the engineering and entrepreneurial skills needed to understand, design, implement and manage smart grids.

Overview

Graduates have a unique understanding of the role played by new technologies and new businesses in a changing landscape. Seven universities offer the programme through EIT InnoEnergy.

Electric power engineering is a critical component in the creation of a more sustainable energy supply. The Smart Electrical Networks and Systems (EIT InnoEnergy) programme from KTH Royal Institute of Technology enables you to develop the technical and entrepreneurial skills needed to design smart grids that integrate renewable energy sources, manage and control power quality, use data-driven applications to enhance electrical solutions and lead the development of innovations such as battery applications, electric mobility and more...

Career

The programme is the perfect launchpad for an exciting future in electrical engineering, smart grids and electrical networks – whatever you want it to be.

The programme prepares you for a global career in electrical power engineering, especially in the fast-growing field of smart grids. It is the perfect starting point for students who want to:

  • Enhance the reliability of electric power delivery
  • Minimise the cost of electric energy
  • Encourage the use of new generating sources
  • Increase the penetration of renewable energy sources in the energy mix

Accreditation

The programme is accredited by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).

Programme Structure

  • You will pursue your first year of studies at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and your second year at one of the other partner universities.
  • You will also be exposed to the know how and expertise of AGH: University of Science and Technology in Poland and Uppsala University in Sweden, who are part of specific programme modules.
