They have scholarships open to Faculty of Humanities & Social applicants from overseas joining postgraduate taught programmes in academic year 2024/5. All self-funded, international (non-EU) fee-paying offer-holders are encouraged to apply.

Applicable programmes


They have a limited number of Dean’s International Excellence Awards worth between £4,000 and £5,000 available to international postgraduate taught applicants with exceptional results.


  • Dean’s International Excellence Awards will be awarded on a competitive basis to candidates who demonstrate excellent academic performance (current and/or previous) and any relevant extra-curricular or professional experience.
  • Awards will also be assessed on applicants' potential to make both a significant contribution to the Strathclyde community during their studies and in their chosen profession upon graduation.
  • Applications are now being accepted and completed application forms should be submitted as early as possible.
  • To be considered for a scholarship an applicant must hold an offer to study a full-time attendance course in the 2024/25 academic year.
  • Postgraduate taught applicants who wish to be considered must apply by no later than 31st July 2024 for September 2024 entry.
  • The Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences' scholarships are only open for self-funded, international (non-EU) fee-paying applicants enrolling on a full-time course. Those who receive full sponsorship from a government office or embassy are not eligible to apply.
  • Online and blended learning programmes are not eligible for these scholarships.

Scholarships are competitive and will be awarded on a rolling basis.  Awards may be allocated early in the applications cycle.

The deadline for applying for a scholarship is 31st July 2024 for September 2024 entry.
