Description
Warwick is committed to closing the gender gap in the fields of science, technology, engineering and medicine and is proud to offer scholarships to reduce the financial barrier for women wishing to pursue higher education in these fields.
For the past five years Warwick has worked in partnership with the British Council to offer five scholarships per year to a specific country or region and has supported scholars from South Asia, South America, Turkey and Southeast Asia.
This year Warwick is delighted to announce five scholarships for women from Brazil pursuing postgraduate study commencing in September 2026.
Benefits
Each scholarship includes:
Full tuition fees for an eligible one year master’s programme at Warwick commencing in 2026
A monthly stipend to support with living expenses for up to 12 months
Return flights to the UK in economy class from the awardee’s home country
Transfers between the UK airport and campus
An excess baggage allowance
An IELTS test
Immigration costs and National Health Service surcharge
Eligibility
- Be or identify as a woman
- Be a passport holder and permanent resident of Brazil
- Hold an unconditional offer of a place to study on one of the eligible courses.
- Have completed all component s of an undergraduate degree at the time of submitting the application for the scholarship; final awards pending will be considered on a case by case basis.
- Demonstrate case for financial support/socio-economic need.
- Not be in receipt of financial support of funding towards your study programme in the UK from any other source and not be able to privately fund your UK studies.
- Declare any periods of study undertaken outside of your home country and explain how this was funded.
- Have not previously studied at degree level or higher in the UK or lived recently in the UK. Distance learning at a UK university or study at a UK branch campus in another country will be considered as studying in the UK.
- Meet the English Language requirements of the course to which you have applied to study.
- Be motivated and academically able to follow and benefit from a UK postgraduate taught course.
- Be active in the field with work experience or with a proven interest in the proposed subject area.
- Be willing to demonstrate future contribution to capacity building and socioeconomic advancement of your home country through the benefits achieved after graduating from UK higher education.
- Agree to return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your scholarship has ended.
