Description

The Dimensions Sciences Bridges scholars receive a scholarship, mentoring and training. Selected candidates received a 3-month stipend and gain access to Dimensions Sciences advice, coaching, training, and support. The 2023 class is performing research in the areas of life sciences, health sciences, and exact (hard) sciences with a focus on the Amazon Rainforest.

The scholarships are $3,500 and training.

Scholarships: Brazil-US research grants with a focus on scholarships for diversity and inclusion, such as for women in STEM and other minorities.

Mentorships: Training in sciences with mentorship programs aimed at developing communication and leadership skills for career growth.

Career Planning: Advancing career opportunities in US-Brazil academia and the private sector, through individualized mentoring and programs.

Eligibility

  • The Bridges program provides scholarships, mentoring, and training for scientists with at least a master's degree undergoing gaps of income and are from underrepresented backgrounds.
  • Candidates eligible are performing research in life sciences, health sciences, and exact sciences. They responded to one or more inclusion criteria. They were working full-time in science without a salary before they started their Bridges scholarship. 

To apply for support, you must meet at least one of the criteria below:

  • Black, brown, or indigenous (self-declaration).
  • Mother of young children up to 12 years old.
  • Member of the LGBTQIA+ community (self-declaration).
  • Family income with less than 2x minimum wage or Classes D and E according to IBGE criteria.
