Description

The scholarship for students with disabilities is granted to students who have confirmation of disability at a request. 

Applicable programmes

Benefits

The scholarship depends on the degree of disability and amounts to around PLN 400-1,200. It is granted for an academic year (9 months), no longer than the certificate's validity period, and paid monthly by wire transfer to the student’s bank account.

Eligibility

  • Students are citizens of the EU, Swiss Confederation, or member states of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) – parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or their family members living on the territory of the Republic of Poland;
  • have a permanent residence permit or are long-term residents of the EU;
  • were granted a temporary residence permit concerning the circumstances referred to in the Art. 159 section 1 or the Art. 186 section 1 point 3 or 4 of the Act on Foreigners of 12 December 2013;
  • have a refugee status granted in the Republic of Poland or benefit from temporary or subsidiary protection on the territory of the Republic of Poland;
  • have a Polish as a foreign language certificate on a C1 level referred to in the Art. 11a section 2 of the Act of 7 October 1999;
  • have the Pole’s Card or a decision about being confirmed as a person of Polish descent;
  • are a spouse in the ascending or descending line of the citizen of the Republic of Poland living on the territory of Poland;
  • were granted a temporary residence permit.
  • International students should submit a confirmation of disability issued by the Polish authority.
  • Students must have a confirmation of disability at a request.

A student may receive each scholarship for one field of study at the same time. In case of awarding a particular scholarship for more than one field of study, a student is obliged to choose one field of study.

Students apply for a scholarship in USOSweb (Common section tab > Applications), print, and deliver to the University within a specified time limit in person or by the post office. More information is available in the Financial aid tab > Application process.

The scholarships are not taxed, and there is no need to declare them in an annual tax return in Poland.
